Common Total Conquest Mistakes
The losses that look like bad luck in the open beta are usually empty cities, skipped collects, and commands fired at countryside.
Most Total Conquest losses are not secret counters. They are the same five mistakes on a 50-player map. This page is the hitch list for your own habits. Pair it with getting started if you have not finished a match, and with how to win if you already snowball and then collapse.
1. Emptying the only city
You take a spawn city, send 100%, and watch a third commander walk into the hole. Production dies with the garrison. The troop production page calls this skipping the floor. The troop-split planner exists so you pick a number before the send box.
Fix: never send the last third from a lone urban tile. If two of your cities touch, you may lower the floor because overflow can bounce. If they do not touch, the floor stays high.
2. Painting countryside and calling it an empire
Empty land is a road. Cities are the factory. A wide, pretty border that owns one urban tile still loses to a tight two-city pocket. That is the B-tier wrap on the openings list. The official how-to-play starts with capturing cities for a reason.
Fix: every send should answer “which city does this help.” If the answer is none, do not send. How to capture cities is the targeting guide.
3. Firing missiles and commands at empty land
First-look videos joke about nuking people. Countryside does not boost production. A strike without a follow-up send is a firework. Shop missiles and rolled strike cards share one rule: the city you will enter this cycle. How to use missiles and the best commands page repeat that sentence because players skip it.
Fix: have a stack already walking. Bomb. Walk in. Collect. If you cannot name the city, hold the card.
4. Redeeming codes in the lobby or in chat
The gift button is match HUD, not menu HUD. Solo lobbies hide it. Chat is not a console. Typing com to another player does nothing except advertise that you have not read how to redeem. Capital letters, extra spaces, and Conquer The World WW2 skin codes all fail. The WW2 name page sorts the wrong-game problem.
Fix: wait until the map paints, paste com from the codes hub, and run codes not working if the box refuses you. Discord is for hearing about new strings, not for redeeming them. See official Discord.
5. Skipping collect, then blaming the beta
Collect is an action. If you never click it, the clock ran and you did not cash it. Beta hitches can hide the button — rejoin once, as beta notes say — but most “my city is not growing” reports are skipped collects. Auto-collect GUIs are not the fix. They are an account risk on auto-farm scripts.
Fix: collect after every send and after every production command. Then send overflow only.
6. Buying a pack before one honest match
The shop will wait. A starter pack front-loads power and skips the lesson that cities are the scoreboard. Premium pack worth it is the honest take: redeem com, finish one match, then decide. Robux does not replace a floor number.
7. Playing the wrong WW2 game’s guide
If a tutorial talks factories, research, Spain skins, villas, or praetorians, close it. This beta is tiles, cities, sends, commands, missiles. How to play is the loop. Controls is the HUD.
How to recover a match you already botched
You emptied a city. A rival is walking in. Do not missile the countryside in panic.
- Collect on every city you still own.
- Redirect overflow toward the threatened urban tile, not toward a vanity fight.
- Fire a defense or strike card only if it lands on that city.
- Let countryside go. You can recapture roads after the factory is safe.
- If the HUD is frozen, rejoin. A desync is not a reason to paste an executor.
If the map is already gone, take the lesson into the next queue: floor, city, collect, then toys. Getting started is the first-session version of that sentence.
Friends make some mistakes louder
Two allies sieging the same city crash stacks. Two allies both emptying spawn leave two holes. Call assignments before the first send. Voice chat is off on the listing — use the official Discord or an external call. Play with friends is the etiquette page.
A short checklist before you queue
- Redeem
com. - Count cities from spawn.
- Name a floor number.
- Name the first urban target.
- Hold every command until that target is real.
If you only fix the empty-capital habit, your win rate moves more than any pack or script will. The rest of the wiki is timing around that one refusal to send the last third.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What is the most common Total Conquest mistake?
Sending 100% from your only city. Keep a garrison floor. The troop-split planner picks the number.
Why did my missile feel useless?
It probably hit countryside, or you never followed it with a send. Use how to use missiles on a city you will enter.
The gift button is missing. Is that a mistake?
Usually you are still in the lobby. Wait for a second player, then follow how to redeem.
Should I use a script after I keep losing?
No. Losses are empty capitals and skipped collects. Scripts risk the account. See script safety.
